Kraynak's outing
For those who are not familiar with Kraynak's, it can be a difficult thing to describe. Imagine every childhood and creative thought during every season and place all of those images in one building, in several settings, with creatures and flowers and even sparkly glitter. People of all ages find the whole experience joyful. Since we are entering Easter season, residents went to Kraynak's and visited Bunny Lane. The photos speak for themselves, every one had such a fun filled time. Sharlene took great time examining the flowers to come up with some createive ideas for our real raised garden beds this year at Juniper. They then became "ladies who lunch"...Ladies and Paul, that is! Angelina, Sharlene, Paul, Hazel and Sophie had a fulfilling time together, staying connected to one of our communities long standing traditions!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
St. Patrick's day was full of festive music and old fashioned Irish Fun; Irish Coffee's, Irish Soda bread and Irish Eyes that were smiling! The beer was green and the laughter abounded. Irish polkas filled the Laffayette Tavern, and yes, there was dancing! Luella even donned her lucky leprechaun hair and joined in the fun before her shift! Barbara danced all the way back to her room and Lou was there, front and center, singing along with each and every word! We found our Irish "Treasure within" on this very celebratory St. Patrick's Day.

Creative Expression
Even the Occupational Therapist from Interim Health care stopped in to put a seal of approval on this program! But we were just doing it for the fun! Residents gathered in the Shryock Room at Juniper Village to create some beautiful pieces of jewelry and inadvertently they were able to show off some fine motor skills... Maintaining an active body, engaged mind and fulfilled spirit can be done in creative ways. We strive to find new and appealing ways our residents will enjoy the benefits of staying active through all seasons of life. Creative Expression is celebrated and is pervasive through all our monthly themes, including this Thursday night at our Annual Night at the Oscars. We hope you will join us! The Oscar celebration will begin following dinner.

Valentine's Day Celebration!
The festivities began with dancing, and dancing and more dancing and led to crowning of the King and Queen, as voted by the Residents at Juniper Village. Mr. and Mrs. Kline will have been married 59 years this March 22nd. They met at a Diner, where Eugene had worked part time around 1950. He struck up a conversation with Doris and, as he says "that was it!", and by 1952 they were married. Eugene is a man of few words and when asked to provide a few about his marriage, he simply chuckled and said "It's been a long time, we are happily married." The Klines are expecting another great grandchild soon, and from the smile, it is evident, Eugene is proud of his whole family!
Love and matchmaking abounded as the creative version of the Dating Game was played. There were a few sparks flying about as two of the contestants locked lips in a kiss! The crowd clapped in delight as the questions and answer session became quite funny! Happy Valentine's Day from Juniper Village, where we were Awakening our Passion in the most entertaining ways this Valentine's Day!

Opera, According to Jennifer
Our very own, Jennifer Musone, participated in our Alive in All Seasons Friends and family night by entertaining with her special talent during Music month. Jennifer spoke about opera and her knowledge of the art. Residents and community members gathered to listen to the performance, as Jennifer later demonstrated songs from Les Miserables. The reviews were wonderful! Thank you, Jennifer, for giving of yourself and sharing that special part of your life with your Juniper Family! We have one word for you...ENCORE!

Superbowl Celebration!
The Super bowl game party was well attended as Residents and Staff who are fans of the black and gold, watched the game. Every time the Steelers scored, the "clappers" went off as shown in the pictures of Helen and Verla. Traditional super bowl foods were served: Pizza, fresh fruit trays , nachos with spinach dip and other munchies. The Bistro was decked out in Steelers colors and Dave and Verla were front and center for the entire game, as everyone sat on the edge of their chairs. In true Juniper fashion, in celebration of Art month, everyone practiced the Art of good sportsmansship as the Steeler's fell to the Packers! Well, there is always next year!
