Bowler Beware!

Top Bowlers in Assisted Living Communities from across the country gathered in the National Wii bowling tournament. After months of dedication and perseverance, Juniper Village at Meadville made it to the finals!  As fellow residents gathered to celebrate the success of our own Wii bowling team, cake was shared by all.  Great job to all of our Juniper Village Bowlers, you are all Winners to us!

Pumpkin Carving

Pumpkin fun continued this fall season with our Best Friends Pumpkin carving contest.  Residents and their best friends trickled in and out of the Colonel Walker room all afternoon.  Some chose to carve, while others chose to paint their pumpkin.

No matter the medium, each and everyone enjoyed the festivities!

Happy Halloween 2010

The Residents, Associates, Families and Friends had a spooktacular time at Trick or Treat on Chestnut Street this Halloween.  Kids of all ages were entertained by the variety of costumes from the traditional ferries and princesses to the surprising "bubble bath on the go" and the missing woman on the milk carton!  Fun was had by all!  Guests enjoyed a tasty and healthy  mix of sweet treats, crackers and cookies.  We hope you are as entertained by the following photos as we were. Who is your favorite?   Enjoy reliving how we, at Juniper Village, Nurture the Spirit of Life! 

Second Annual Food Drive

Juniper Village is feeding body and soul this November with our Second Annual Food Drive to benefit the Local Food Pantry. Hunger affects people of all ages and we want to help. You may drop off food from November 1 - 30 at Juniper Village. Local area businesses will also be designated drop off locations. Our goal is to collect 1000 pounds of food for the food pantry. Join us in our efforts to support our local Community. 100% of your donation will stay local.  To inquire about volunteering for the food drive, please call 814.333.4400

Friends and Family Night~

Our Sports themed Alive in All Seasons Friends and Family Night was a touchdown!  Mark Matlack, Meadville Native, Meadville Rotarian and Allegheny Football coach took a "time out" from his busy schedule to join the Residents and Family of Juniper Village.  I often hear people say about Mark, "I don't know what Mark does if he is not working or involved in the community somehow!  He is always giving back!"

Buddies Lou and Dick sit with Lou's Daughter while they await Mark's arrival.  The living room was alive with Sports trivia and signing up for the sports prize.  The Cleveland browns dueled the Pittsburgh Steelers in the basket give away!

Thank you Mark for the great evening.  We look forward to seeing you soon!  I hear your team will be joining us for lunch!  Allegheny College has always been a large supporter of Juniper Village with volunteer efforts.  Thank you for giving back and joining our Juniper Village Family for the evening.

Garden Girls

As recent weather spits the cold fall rain onto our shoulders, we are told that Summer has come to an end. I am reminded of this photograph that the "Garden Girls" requested to be taken.  Joan, Rita, and Lucy gathered in the Garden a few weeks ago at the request of our friend Mary Tokarcik.  Mary had the foresight to know she would want this beautiful landscape photograph to remind her, in the colder months, how beautiful the gardens became this summer!  Her friends thought it would be nice to brighten the day by including their beautiful smiling faces as well!  Thank you Mary, and the "Garden Girls", for taking time to Nurture our Spirits on such a cool and rainy fall day.

YMCA Water Walking Women!

Last Friday, Juniper Village, ventured to their first water walking

class at the YMCA. The residents gathered for the class as a part of

the fitness package residents receive at Juniper Village. Residents

are welcome to participate in the YMCA services and take classes of

their choice. Please encourage your loved one to get involved and we
can help match them up with a class and fitness program that will
fulfill their active schedule!
