Classic Car Cruise In

The first Friday Night Cruise-In was a success! All of the parking spaces out front were taken by Classics and Hot Rods, so a few participants ventured onto the lawn. The cruisers brought their own chairs scattered about to soak in the evening! Music by Kenton Kovich was enjoyed throughout the entire evening. There were a few cruisers who drove from Fairview because they had "heard about it." The Fairview folks brought their own picnic food and gathered under the huge tree in the front yard!

Yogi from Baer's Corvettes in Linesville gave a guided tour through all of the car...what a super treat!

We even had a few "drive-throughs" from interested passers by and lots of folks slowed down on their way by. Residents were out and about all evening. The porch remained full. They were seated in the yard listening to the music, too. And of course they were walking about the cars. Residents were even seen peering out their bedroom windows, observing the fun from afar.

Exhibitors received our new Juniper bags as Wendy Vaughn, Connections Director toted around the root beer wagon.  Join us each Friday evening at 5pm, weather permitting. The Cruise in is open to the pubilic.

Car Show supports the Alzheimer's Association

Residents of Juniper Village at Meadville enjoyed an afternoon on the front lawn as the cars rolled in! The event that accepted donations
for the walk to end Alzheimer's, supporting the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk, raised almost $90. The funds will go towards the Juniper Village walking team. The residents and Associates admired the Juniper Green color, the flashy reds, classic black and the lines of the signed original blue Shelby! Hot dogs and refreshments were served and a basket of car cleaning goodies was given away to the winner...Ross Feltz. Ross is a fellow Rotarian friend of Juniper and owns the Decorating Den with his wife Marie. Other neighbors stopped in for a visit and many passers by slowed to peek in on the excitement. For more information on joining the walk to end Alzheimer's 2013, please call Jennifer Musone at 333.4400.

Fitness Fair at Meadville

Juniper Village residents gathered on the front lawn for the Annual Fitness Fair! There was dancing, Tai Chi, a hoola hoop demonstration, fresh healthy snacks and an opportunity to sign up at the Wellness Extension to maintain that healthy kick start! Educational information was also made available by Southern Care Hospice. At all of our community events, we welcome our local area vendors and providers in for an opportunity to stay connected to our Residents, families and new comers that happen upon our events.  The greater community is always welcome and we encourage you to RSVP or verify the date/time of the event by calling us at 333.4400.  As we work our way into June, we will be focusing on healthy nutrition...one of our more popular themed months...FOOD!  Check our calendar of events to see what we have coming up!

You say Tomato...

Big Beautiful Tomatoes=Big Beautiful Smiles and Full Bellies!

Recently the Residents at Juniper Village at Meadville showed great smiles of delight when they were served beautiful, fresh tomatoes from
Al's Melons!  Al's is the new supplier of produce for  Juniper Village. Locally-grown, brightly-colored, aromatic, fresh vegetables are super food for the body, mind and spirit.  The culinary associates were busy creating delectably edible works of art from the vegetables and fruit, while residents sang praises of gratitude.

Resident Paul Reese contends, "The tomatoes couldn't be more beautiful!  They must be raised inside to be as perfect as they are. . . They are red all the way through.  The other night I had a
hamburger and the slice of tomato was about ¼ inch thick!"  "The other day my dining partner had one of those tomatoes stuffed with Egg Salad and he cleaned his plate.  That is something he seldom does!"

Mother's Day Celebration

Saturday, May 4th our resident mothers and their families enjoyed sharing favorite dishes, recipes, photos and memories during the Juniper Village Mother's Day Potluck Luncheon. The Grand Ballroom was adorned with beautiful springtime flowers and colors to energize our spirits and pay tribute to all of the lives that have been touched
and grown by our mothers. Indeed memories were blooming as we shared wonderful  reflections and a meal complete with scrumptious desserts. We appreciate and honor those whom we make home for and all they have nurtured during their lifetimes. Happy Mother's Day from all of us at Juniper Village!!
