Friendship is Blooming

New Residents Dorris Smock and Lucille Echnoz take a moment to admire the flower arrangement they created together. The flowers were product of the nurturing family that Lucy raised. The lavender gladiolas were planted by Lucy in the spring. Lucy gave the seedlings for the Chrysanthemums to her daughter, who sprouted them at her home and brought them to Lucy on Mother's day this year. Lucy planted the flowers in her own garden in June, and by her August birthday, they were blooming! September we celebrate Friendship month at Juniper Village. Please join Lucy and Dorris and all the Residents, Family and Staff on September 26th from 11:30am to 1:30pm at our 7th annual Friends and Family Picnic on the Juniper Front Lawn!

In order to Nurture the Spirit of Life in each of our Residents, Juniper Village at Meadville’s Environmental Services Director, Clay Erford and Director of Operations, Don Breneman lend a hand to build one of the several raised garden boxes that will be a part of Juniper Village at Meadville’s Garden Project. The project sprouted up last fall when Connections Director Jennifer Musone was approached by Allegheny College Student Nikki Cash, regarding a senior project idea. What started out as a small seed has blossomed into a wonderful community project. “Nikki’s presentation proved to far exceed our expectations” says Jennifer Musone. Representatives from local businesses, churches and organizations have graciously offered to support the project over the next few months. Did you know that gardening provides the weight-bearing motions that help build strong bones and muscles? The residents of Juniper Village will continue their journey in maintaining an Active Body, Engaged Mind, and Fulfilled Spirit.
