Awaken Your Passion: February Events

This February our Alive in All Seasons’ theme is Art: “Awaken Your Passion”. In a moving quote from HonorĂ© de Balzac we are reminded that art and passion are inextricably linked; he states, “passion is universal humanity; without it, religion, history, romance and art would be useless.” Art is truly a conduit that allows us to experience the richness and brilliance of all that life has to offer. Art can have a profound effect upon us by providing nourishment to our spirit and soul.

As you know there is always something special going on here at Juniper Village at Meadville and this February we will celebrate another wonderful month filled with memories, laughter and the opportunity to create! This month we will open ourselves to various forms of art. We will be taking field trips to local museums, learning about the Great Masters, and creating masterpieces of our own using various mediums.

We encourage you to review our calendar for our offerings and attend any or all of the activities that are of interest to you.

Come get together with us for our Alive in All Seasons programs this February and Awaken Your Passion!

Juniper Jinglers

Juniper Village at Meadville's Juniper Jinglers performed during the Alive in All Seasons monthly Celebration.  The group was so proud and had practiced very hard, under the guidance of the Connections Department. Sue Ellen and Wendy inspired the Jinglers to jump in and take on a concert opportunity! The community resonated with sweet musical bell ringing, as we celebrate Music this January! We applaud the Jinglers and as we move into Performance month this March...perhaps we will have an encore? The Juniper Jinglers pictured include: Sharlene Peterson, Mary Varano, Helen Funk, Margaret Rudler, Doris Husaem, Lois Dougherty, and Connections Assistant Sue Ellen Shirk.

Celebrating Life's Passions

Meet Nansi Janes: Artist, Nurse and Innkeeper in Residence

Many years ago, a fine young nurse immigrated to the United States from Wales.  Life in America afforded Nansi opportunities to care for people in many ways.  In addition to giving care through her trained profession, she and her husband hand-built the Wilderness Lodge in Wattsburg, PA.  Nansi recalls moving many loads of stone from a nearby creek to build Pennsylvania’s first ski touring lodge.  Nansi also expresses her creativity through her passion for painting.  She is an accomplished artist and is happy to strike up conversation about her works anytime.  Nansi’s subject matter includes nature scenes, plant life, herding sheep and community life in Wales, to name a few.  We are proud she is a member of our community.  Here are a few photos of Nansi and her beautiful paintings.
